Theft from a vehicle

We are appealing for information after an increase in thefts from motor vehicles in areas of Northampton.

We are keen to hear from anyone who may have any information relating to the thefts from these vehicles or that may have been in the area around the time of an incident and heard or seen anything suspicious. Please call us on 101 or report to us online here.

You can also pass on information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

There are some simple but effective things you can do to help protect your vehicle:

Park your car in a garage or driveway if possible, or on a busy, well-lit road. Choose a ParkMark® accredited public car park wherever possible

Never leave anything on display in your car. The cost to repair damage to the vehicle will usually exceed the value of the theft

Drivers of some Toyota and Honda vehicles and some 4 x 4’s should install measures to deter theft of catalytic converts e.g Catloc | Catalytic Convertor Theft Protection
